Sims 4 Lot Requirements and Guidelines
1. Your picture must represent the actual lot.
Whatever is shown in your Lot previews MUST include a link to the CC used.
2. External Links
If you use Content from external sites, You must list the CC used in your Required Items Tabs with links to the CC and credit to the creator. No mediafire links are allowed. You must link to the creator's website and the page the content is on. You are not allowed to include content that is unpublished including your own.
No more than 8 External (NOT Including TSR) links are allowed to be pictured nor used in previews or otherwise provided on Lots. You may NOT place links to non-PG-13 Sites. Your links must be to child-friendly sites. You MUST list the links, including The Sims Resource, as Sims 4 does not package content with the lot. Do not link to sites with malware, adfly, or any other adware media. These will be rejected.
Link spaces have been provided for you please do not use the description or notes section to place links.
3. Presentation
All Lots must have a clear picture of the outside and inside of the lot. The outside front view of the lot needs to be the first picture at the top. Nighttime Screen Shots or Dark Screenshots will be rejected. Although not a requirement, it can help downloaders place your lot if you mention where you built it (ie neighborhood name, even maybe address). Also, a screenshot of the floor plan is always nice.
4. Screen size
All Pictures for lots must be in the 4:3 ratio when uploading. The smallest is 800 x 600 and the largest being 1024 x 768.
5. Photoshop
Overly photoshopped previews will be rejected. You must represent how it will look in-game to the downloader. Overly "dressed up" pictures will be rejected as well. By that, we mean too much frame, border, oversized text, etc.
6. Gridlines
Do not submit Lots with Gridlines in the pictures. These will be rejected. All lot pictures must be done in LIVE mode.
7. Necessary Notes and Expansion Listings
Please list all the expansion and stuff packs you have installed. You must list these even if you have not used all of them for the lot.
8. Testing
Please ensure that you test your lot BEFORE uploading to TSR. We test all lots in gameplay. The lot must be fully playable, there must be no routing/pathing issues and all the functional objects must be accessible.
If you do not fix your submission and it gets rejected, after 3 tries, we will permanently reject your content and not allow you to submit it again.
9. General
- No Sims can be included in the Lot for upload.
- If no Custom Content was used you MUST state this in your notes or description. Failing to do so will result in a lot rejection.
- No more than 8 preview pictures will be allowed for each lot submission.
- We cannot accept any creations that have CC included that are not flagged to be CC. This causes the CC to stick to your creation and may be passed to other people's games who may not want the content. If you wish to use CC in your creation then it must be a separate download with a correct link attached in the notes section of your description.
- Do NOT package content with the lot in a zip. This is stealing other people's work and is not allowed at The Sims Resource.
- If we see content that has been made with non CC by manipulation with bb.objects on and we think it's CC we will reject the lot. So please make sure that when you manipulate objects you give us an explanation of what you have done.
- Unfurnished lot must have the stairs to all floors, the doors to all rooms. Walls and floors must be painted.
- Partly Furnished lot must have the basic equipment: Kitchen with a counter, fridge, stove, table, and a chair; Bathroom with shower/bathtub, sink, toilet; Bedroom with a bed. So that a sim can have its basic needs met.
- Lot must be closed or have a thermostat. All external walls and ceilings must be there. The staircase should not lead from outdoors directly into the room which makes this room unclosed.
