I'm Still Alive and Playing
I'm still here playing but not creating. A stroke in 2017 left me with one functioning side of my body ( not my dominant side unfortunately). It's too difficult to create using one hand to push three keystrokes Imagine CTRL, ALT, DEL) at the same time, but I'm still playing Sims 3.
I still get comments on my Sims 2 creations. I appreciate each and every one of them. I have tons of ideas for Sims 3 & 4 but no way to implement them. Living post stroke can be frustrating at times. I rejuvenated the builder's challenges across the forum, but discontinued my attempts because of inactivity of other TSR members and a lifestyle change.
After the death of my husband, I'm currently operating a homestead property with the hopes of being more self sufficient. You can find me on YouTube (cockeyed homestead) or my blogs (www.jomurphey.blogspot.com or www.cockeyedhomestead.bkigspot.com)
Oh, and BTW, I'm officially Grandmajam of 10 now!
I'm Back
I'm back and running the builders contest again in the forum. Come join me in Sims 2 and Sims 3 forum.
An Answer to My Blog
I recieved an email about my last blog post from TSR. Amazing because I thought nobody read these. It seems that there was a glitch in the TSR system that suspended my account. Whew, it seems they cared enough to send me an email. So I'm back!
I haven't posted in a while...
Nope this blog has been pretty lonely. I had a stroke in the middle of 2012. It left me paralyzed on my dominant right side. So while I'm recovering I can't build anything. I've taken over the monthly build contest under Sims 2 from Crass while she is on hiatus unofficially.
I'm still around but mostly silent.
MIA
For those of you who might have noticed, I've been MIA from TRS for a couple of months. A worm ate it's way through my hard drive before it was caught. So, I've had major computer issues.
Also my personal life has gotten more insane. I started back to college to finish my culinary degree so I can teach. Two years ago I ruptured my achilles tendon and the repair left me with nerve damage so I had to find another career. Also my youngest daughter was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She's been in treatments and has survived to see the new year, which is longer than the doctors originally gave her. My husband's cancer also escalated into another form of cancer so needless to say I've been hopping.
I hope to be uploading again as soon as I get the final stuff replaced/fixed on my computer.

Have you ever had one of those...
Month's???? September has found me under the weather, in school AGAIN!, and just beat down to the bone and it's only the 13th! I guess I'm just hung over from last month...it was nonstop. I did make my goal of lots I wanted to submit...YEAAAH! ME!
This month's goal is a bit more modest. I'm going to focus on Craftsman style homes. They will be built in both base game and the whole tamale packages...thinking 3 or 4 lots total, if my homework, yes this old grandma is doing homework, allows. I have already uploaded my screenies for the TSR Birthday competition.
The nonstop rain storms of late August left me with a mess. Yes, you guessed it. The rain water, sometimes as much as 6" a day for 6 days straight, flooded my foundation and it also ripped off part of my roof. At one point I was standing calf deep in water IN MY LIVING ROOM! The exterior walls are brick so no worries there, but my all my interior rooms have to have their drywalls replaced, carpets and flooring ripped up and replaced...all of it is a royal pain. Reconstruction of the damaged rooms has me moving from room to room with my computer. Needless to say, my building and uploads are slow going as I try to stay out of the way of the builders...real ones. Chronic fatigue has set in and all I want to do is sleep There is very little time when there is not something banging or someone walking through in my home. The contractor has promised me only two more weeks of this. I'm hoping and praying.
My husband is in Hospice while all this is going on and I miss him terribly. Meanwhile, a cold has caught me. My father always said no one in their right mind would ever want to catch a cold. :) So I'm pretty miserable at this point which drains my creativity.
If you have any requests for lots, please keep in mind...it will be sometime in late Spetember or Octoberer before I can uplaod them.
More lots coming...
I've had a couple of other jobs to do lately, but more house lots are coming. I've challenged myself to create two lots a week at minimum this month so far for the month of August I've published 4 with one pending so I'm ahead of my own challenge.
I'm currently working on a country brick and wood siding cottage. I love the textured look of the combination. It looks small on the outside but it seems huge on the inside with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. I've adding three levels to the back yard with a patio/bbq area attached to the house, the second has the hot tub, and the lower level has chess under the trees and a swimming pool. It will hopefully be ready for uploading by Tuesday if I quit tweaking it. :) I also will be putting a slide show together of thsi lot and adding it to the Showcase forum.
Playing around with AGS
I've spent half the day playing around with Numeror's AnyGameStarter today. I've used it on my laptop a few times...mostly for building custom requested lots. This is the first time I've used it to build lots for general uploads.
It was brought to my attention that I haven't made a base game only house in quite a while. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever built just a base game house before. It was an interesting trip in trial and error. So many options for custom building are in the EP's I never thought twice about how difficult it would be for me to work backwards. Even when I first started building and modifying houses in Sims2 it was with Sims2 Deluxe so I had the luxury of Nightlife with the cars and driveways.
Well, today I made a modern abode house using just Sims2 and no EP's or SP's. It has been approved and should be published in a few days.
SIMply Enjoy!
Mini site
Well, I'm finally getting around to playing with my little site here. I changed the color to purple although it's not showing. I've started a gallery, but that's not showing up either. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. I've never done a site within a site before so this has become a learning experience for me.
Building
People have asked where I get my inspiration for my homes...everywhere. I was playing a card game with my family, the deck of cards series of homes. My youngest is a pastry chef so Sweetheart Chocolates was a must do. The once upon a time series of homes came from a children's magazine I was looking at in the doctor's office and all the cool stuff in AL. The alphabet houses...well that's just my quirky nature. Most of all it's imagination and creativity in overdrive. :)
Keep watching for more specialty homes by Grandmajam. My current project is a Camelot series. As always enjoy.
