Meet Julienne (the sim with the bun hairdo). All through her young adulthood I've been trying to find a suitable mate in-game for her. She's gone on dates: some blind, some with aquaintances. She's been hooked up by well-intentioned family members. She's gone on the club scene. No dice, at least where I was concerned. Every relationship went bad in no time flat. At her nephew's birthday party (and right after she turned "40"), another woman autonomously flirted with Julienne, and within a day they were dating all on their own. Funny how it works sometimes, huh? :D
