Kungsladugard

In the 19th century there were laws in the city of Gothenburg in Sweden, against wooden houses higher than two floors. They presume this would protect against deadly fires. One intelligent person invented a special house with one floor of brick or stone and two wooden floors above, built in blocks with green inner yards. These houses are very typical for the part of Gothenburg where I live, Kungsladugard and Majorna, a very popular and picturesque area near the river, the harbour, the archipelago and the center of Gothenburg. This particular block in Kungsladugard is an almost look alike replica of the one I live in myself.
