Zulekha is an Afghan nomad woman. She is dressed for her wedding in a red velvet dress heavily embroidered in gold, green tumbon and a black silk chadar also heavily embroidered in gold. She is also wearing the traditional turned-up-toes shoes, paisar. Her hair is elaborately braided in a style similar to cornrows to help keep dust out as she follows the family sheep and goats from desert to mountain each year.
