Aspiration $$$: The money tree is a handy little object to have so long as you can keep your Sim in gold or better; however all the neighbors like that tree too. The way around this is to put it in a room where only YOUR Sim needs to go (bedrooms are great), lock the door to "allow household only" this stops townies & neighbors from picking YOUR simoleons.
The counterfeit machine is great.....but it can catch on fire; to prevent this place the sprinkler from University EP over the counterfeiting machine to prevent all those perfectly spendable simoleons from going up in smoke.

Hiking,and avoiding bees & poison ivy.:Want to know how to avoid being chased by bees while out on a hike? As soon as your sim has left the lot to go on the hike pause or put your game on speed #1 normal speed. While they're out have each playable sim select a task such as raking, weeding plants, fishing, studying a book, working on the car......anything that takes time for them to do, if the group encounters bees while out the "be chased by bees" square will appear after the square relating to the task you gave them to do......you then cross out the "chased by bees" before it becomes lit up. If your sim took along any NPC or townies those sims will get chased.....but not yours. The same principal applies to poison ivy although it keeps coming back and must be constantly crossed out......and taking a shower does help.....but only a little. I suggest having them only go out while all things like energy are full so that they can STUDY A SKILL FROM BOOK.......you'll have the best chances of keeping them f

For those with the Free Time expansion: The Genie is a new NPC that came with the FT EP. Your Sim gets the genie from the fortune teller. She sneaks on your sim's lot and much like a happy date leaves a gift of an old lamp. The higher the overall aspiration level of the household the more likely the fortune teller is to bestow it upon your sim. Once your Sim has gotten this there are several options but for now I'll only discuss 2 of them......."peace of mind" and "wealth". By asking for "peace of mind" your sim will have platinum aspiration for the rest of their life.....this option is available from child through elder. By choosing "peace of mind" you have then made it VERY easy for the lamp to be left another time. In asking for "wealth" you'll get several bags of money dropping from the sky. Quite profitable; however there is a catch......say hello to Mr. or Mrs. burglar. You may want to consider investing in an alarm with the 1st bag as there are more and those sims are so pissy once they've been
