Created for: The Sims 3
The Canadian Pacific Railway had large tracts of prairie land remaining once the transcontinental railroad was complete. This land was divided up and sold to homesteaders. Plans were drawn up for inexpensive, easy-to-build farm buildings. This little house would have cost about $950 to build in a place like Red Deer or Lethbridge, Alberta. With a living/dining room, small kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath this house met the basic needs of the frontier family. A loft provided extra storage or sleeping space. Behind this house is a barn with stabling for a work horse. A pond provides irrigation for the garden. Fully tested by "Grandpa and Grandma Hicks",who farmed the prairies in the pioneering days. Part of my Historic Canada Series.
