Blacksmith Richard Hiscock built this house and shops in Trinity, Newfoundland in 1881. He and his wife Emma worked together to raise their family - he in his forge - she in her General Store. But when she was expecting their 7th child, Richard was lost at sea leaving Emma to provide for her children alone in this remote Atlantic port. The property is now a heritage site. This house features a central hall with front and back parlour, dining room and kitchen. Upstairs are 4 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The attic has a 5th bedroom, bath and lookout window for a view to the sea. A 2nd stairway leads down to the connected coffee shop, washroom and workshop. Across the rocky back yard is the forge. Perfect house for a large, creative Sims family. Part of my Historic Canada Series.
