Sims 3 Problems

I am uninstalling TS3 once again :-/ Not permamently, mind you, but it's still frustrating. This will be the second time within the last month due to problems I've been experiencing. Just before I installed WA for the first time, the game started taking a LONG time to load and even when playing, it was frustratingly slow. Before that, it had been perfectly fine. So I thought it might be the amount of cc I had and I went through all of it and deleted what I could do without. Nothing changed.

I couldn't bear playing it in that state so I uninstalled everything and started from scratch (though I saved all my cc, of course! ;-)). After installing the game (not WA) and all my cc back on again, it had worked fine. But then - duh duh duh - I updated the game! Not a smart idea but at least I know now what was making my game go weird. It wasn't taking ages to load this time but strange things were happening. It was with the update 1.7. something and I have read there have been many problems with it.

The problems I experienced were:

*Food would spoil very quickly (which was incredibly annoying - leftovers are very handy ;-))

*The school bus would no longer come for my sim children (resulting in a bit of exercise for them - which they hated!)

*Some of my sims ages were going backwards (wouldn't some of us like that!?), and

*One of my families became unplayable :-(

There may have been more problems but that was enough for me to decide to start again - this time without updates - as time consuming as it is...

Well...anyway, I've shared with you my frustrations now so I'll be on my way :-) Oh, and if you've experienced similar problems, please feel free to vent below :-D

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles Sam! I've been lucky so far. The only real issue I've had is food spoiling, but I moved house and it sorted itself out. I sometimes have issues with it taking a long time to load, but that's a Vista issue (enough said, right?) not a Sims issue.

Hi Sam! I see you have encountered some similar problems I did. (it's in my blog about being BLUE). Have you emptied your downloads folder (in my documents) and the DCBackup folder? (also in My documents). Once you have the cc installed you dont need to keep it in my documents. You can save it in another folder to just have a backup of your cc. Defrag will help too, and there is a tool by Delphi on MTS that will check your cc if it's not in a sims3 pack. (It's called BLOF and will make cc compatible with WA and the latest patch...which is a pain..I agree) I also have one household I cannot access anymore...it's a real pain. I spent hours on the forums to find solutions. Sofar Delphy has come up with the best one sofar. Good luck Sam, I'd love to help out if I can!

Oh Sam.... I'm sorry to hear that you have to keep reinstalling your beloved game. And that the patch mucked it all up for you......again. $\:\($ EA really needs to take into consideration all the cc that is created because it's never going to stop being created! It's good to let out our frustrations. Wine helps too. lol $\:wub\:$

I have the food spoiling and the ages going backwards..but neither are big things for me..I've been lucky that I've had no major issue's (cross fingers) ...the worst thing for me though is that my inventory is barely useable..I can't sort anything into any order because every time my sim goes adventuring and comes back, its all rearranged again $\:rolleyes$ :..so annoying...thank god they added those chests, I keep stuff in those now..hope everything is sorted for you now and you get some fun out of the game again $\:\)$
