The Saplen SF14 are a pair of glasses made by the Sareanite company Saplen since 1972. Inspired by the styling of the Mirabello Avantgarde, which pioneered the so-called "aviator glasses" design and was very successful among both civilian and Air Force pilots, the SF14 were conceived to be their main competitor not only in terms of styling, but functionality as well: they were built to be as lightweight as possible, and an innovative aluminum frame was used for the glasses, besides a 14K rolled gold version. They became a sort of cult object in Sarean.
