More Sintesi colours
The two other recolours of the Sintesi living room, matching the bedroom, have just been published. I think it was about time, since pink and blue aren't the most suitable colours for a living room.I know nobody will care, but I'm going to tell you why I called those sets Sintesi. This is the italian word for the english "synthesis" (quite similar) and I thought that those items were the perfect (?!?) synthesis between different materials that blend together, in most cases two different woods, and in some items wood and glass.
Someone asked me to make more Sintesi items, but I don't know yet if I will add more rooms or other recolours. Maybe a matching study or dining room can be done, but that kind of curved surfaces don't work well on every piece of furniture.
Let me know what you would like to see and I'll try to make it.
Sintesi Right Bookcase Updated
Sorry, Sorry, Sorryyyyyyyyy! While making the recolours for the Sintesi Living room, I discovered that I messed up the right corner bookcase, which wasn't recolourable.
I've fixed it and uploaded the new file (13th June, 19.30 Italy time). You can download it again now.
I will also submit the pink and blue recolours tomorrow, so they will be available in a couple of days.
My first poll
Every time I create new meshes I try to make them base game compatible, but sometimes it's simply impossible or it leaves new features out (ie. the university functions of bookcases and computers, the possibility to lock doors and gates for OFB...).And I had a thought: is it that important to have everything working in base game? Well, it depends on how many people don't have any EPs.
So I'm asking you to answer this question to help me make better things for the sims. Will you be so kind? ;)
Sintesi Modular Living Room
I liked so much the Sintesi Bedroom (hope that it was not just me) that I decided to make a matching living room. It's "modular", in the sense that the different pieces can be combined together to make the perfect room for every need. The set includes: - 2 bookcases (left and right corner) with decorative photos and vases on the 5th shelf, while the 2nd shelf has a working slot for decorative objects. - a shelf, 2-tiles wide, with spotlights. - a wallunit, 2-tiles wide, with decorative vases on it. - 2 wallunits, left and right corner, with an usable shelf and decorative objects on the upper shelf. - a 2-tiles coffe table. - 2 corner coffee table, with a glass shelf and an added usable lower shelf (only for small objects). - a ceiling lamp, matching the floor and table lamps of the Sintesi bedroom. - a decorative knick-knack. While I finish and test it, I'm submitting another recolour of the Sintesi Bedroom, which will come handy for the living room too. I hope you like it.Back to Build Mode!
Build mode objects are my first "meshing love", and I've gone back to them with a brand new "easy" staircase. I began this back in November, but then I had some troubles with the glass railing and concentrated on other projects. Now I've found the courage to finish it, and you can see the result here. As you can see, the staircase matches Maxis Chiclettina door and I've completed the set with matching fences and a couple of recolours for the door itself. It's not finished yet, but I think I'll be able to publish everything in a few days.Fixed Sintesi Mirror and more...
Making the latest (maybe the last) recolour of my Sintesi Bedroom, I noticed that the mirror had a shadow which was too big and evident when playing with the walls always up.Nobody reported to me, so I think that little people play with walls always visible; but I didn't like it and decided to update it. If you downloaded the Sintesi Mirror before May, the 7th, you can re-download the fixed version at this link http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/objects/furnishing/decorative/mirrors/479356/
I've also finished and submitted the black and white recolour, which has a shiny finish, that will hopefully give it a look of laquered wood. This is the best I could do with it, since the game has some restraints on reflective materials. Let me know if you like it.
Sintesi Bedroom Recolours
The Sintesi Bedroom seems to have been quite popular. Thanks to everyone who downloaded it and thanks A LOT to everyone who commented on it. It's strange, but after a good month of work, when I was going to upload it, I was afraid that maybe nobody would have liked it. So thanks to you all. Now I've made a couple of recolours, so that you can have more choices (even in your readings, if you don't like Harry Potter ;) ). I hope you like them too. I'm planning to make at least another recolour in more neutral colours soon, but since I've not begun working on it yet, I'm open to suggestions and requests. And of course everybody is welcome to recolour all my items: Momama has already made a really nice recolour of the Sintesi Bedroom for the Texture Challenge.Sintesi Bedroom
I've been away for a while, but I hope you'll find the result worth the waiting. My new project is a bedroom; not a common bedroom, but the bedroom I actually sleep in every night (or at least most of the objects you'll find here come from there). It gave me some problems, but I wanted it to look exactly like my real one. I made both single and double bed, bedside table with a glass shelf and some books on it, a dresser with a similar glass shelf and some jewel boxes, a wall mirror with a small bracket and perfumes on it, table and floor lamps. I completed the set with the bedding and matching wallpaper and a neutral wood floor. There are some minor fixes I want to make and some more testing, but I think I'll be able to submit it in a couple of days.Medieval columns
Since the connecting arch needs a lot of BHAV editing to get fixed (the Maxis original items are somewhat buggy), I've decided to release the columns for the moment. They took me so much time to get ready, that I couldn't bear leaving them in a forgotten folder in my hard drive. When (and if?) I fix the arch, I will add it to the set. At the moment, it keeps reverting to the default colour every time I add a piece to it and I hate it.
The 'easy' staircases
As I said not long ago... more fences, gates and stairs are coming. This time they match the Altitude Attitude Inc. "step by step" staircase, with an extra: the easy version of the staircase.
I called my staircases "easy" because they're ready to use. Sometimes particular objects need to use the cheat codes (such as moveobjects) to use them; the modular stairs always need to go and edit the script file, for them to appear in the catalogue. Nothing of this is needed for the easy staircases to work.
This doesn't mean that I won't venture in making modular stairs in the future, but there are already so many and so beautiful on TSR that I don't think you feel the need for those at the moment.
I took away the lower wall because I found very annoying that it was always blocking my view to my Sims when I was playing. And since there was more free space under the stairs, I freed one tile to be usable by Sims.
If you want, you can also use moveobjects to place something in the second free tile of the staircase: I didn't make it automatically available because the space was too low and it was ugly to see Sims sink in the staircase while stepping under it.
Now I need to go and click that "Submit" button. I'll be back soon with my next project, even if I'm not sure which it will be.
