A Little Bit About Me
So, for anyone who actually reads this blog, I thought that I would tell you a little bit about myself. It might also help you understand why there are lags between uploads sometimes. I am 21 and living in the USA. I recently graduated college with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. This summer has been spent looking for that perfect job for next year. I have not found it yet so keep your fingers crossed. I enjoy writing stories and playing around on the computer. I didn't jump on the Sims craze when it all started happening. I saw the commercials on TV for Sims 1 and thought "Hmm...that might be kind of fun." My sister and I were always big fans of Barbies, so it makes sense that I would be drawn to the sims. I looked in stores for Sims 1 but just couldn't shell out the money. About a year after Sims 2 came out, my sister and I found The Sims Deluxe Edition on sale somewhere. We looked at it and finally broke down and bought it. Within a couple of weeks, we had bought all of the expansion packs. I was addicted. I would look at Sims 2 on the shelves and think "Eh, Sims 1 is keeping me busy and happy for now. I'll save a few bucks." However, once I started coming on thesims.com and TSR and was seeing screenshots by people from Sims 2, I got curious. I finally convinced my sister and we broke down and bought it. It wasn't long before I wanted an expansion pack. Open for Business had just come out and I knew I didn't want the newest pack until the bugs were worked out. So, I started asking on thesims2.com BBS which pack was better - University or Nightlife. I got mixed results and finally decided to just buy them in order. So, I found University at one store and found Nightlife for an extremely cheap amount at another store and ended up with both. Soon enough, I was buying Open for Business and continuing with the other expansion and stuff packs until I realized my computer was slowing down and couldn't handle any more. So, I bought more memory for my computer. Well, that was great but suddenly I didn't want my game slowing down due to more stuff and expansion packs. So, I stopped with Bon Voyage (I was already missing a few stuff packs). Now, I have a new computer and the game is running so fast that I'm super excited. I'm planning on buying Freetime sometime soon to add to my game. But for now, I'm just happy playing with what I've got. The fun comes from making stuff, telling stories, and sharing things I discover with others. As always, Happy Simming!! And what is an entry without a screenshot?Chapter 2 has been uploaded!
Chapter 2
All of the screenshots have been taken for chapter 2 of Behind Closed Doors! All that is left is to write the captions for them. This chapter will focus primarily on the Zolers and the Knights. And just for your enjoyment...a screenshot from Chapter 2!The Base Game
I am finally back at home! Right now though, I still can't work on Behind Closed Doors because I am in the process of setting up my new computer - which means reinstalling the sims and transferring all of my neighborhoods. Soon though, I will have that all complete. On a different note, I was a bit thrown off by the base game. I never really had a chance to play Sims 2 as just the base game because I found that I quickly bought University and Nightlife after I got the game. Therefore, I missed getting to see some of the animations that came with first kisses, woohoo, engagement, marriage, and the list goes on. Now, these animations are quite funny to watch and I am enjoying them thoroughly. And for the fun of it, a screenshot of Don Lothario dancing:Retro Dress Set
I just uploaded another dress set to TSR. I saw that there is a Retro Theme Week coming up and it inspired me. Take a look at what I came up with below. Hopefully the set will be approved and published soon.Base Game
I was playing around in the base game today and it made me really miss all of the stuff that I have in my other game. You don't realize how much you like the stuff that comes with the expansion and stuff packs until their missing. I got my tutorial for making custom story covers finished and submitted. Hopefully it will be published soon. I also have one base game house almost finished. I have included a picture of it below.Excited and Sad
I'm so excited! I had been thinking about getting a new computer before the upcoming school year and my dad found one that is better than expected and cheaper than expected. We're going on Tuesday to buy it. This will mean a faster game and I'll be able to get the expansion and stuff packs that I'm lacking!I'm sad though because I'll be away from my computer for a week. My sister and I are dog sitting for some friends and I can't exactly pack up my desktop and go. But I will have her laptop and the base game of Sims 2 so keep an eye out for some base game houses, new clothing, and an all new tutorial from me!
For now, I'm off to bed. Thanks to everyone who has given me feedback on my story. I'm excited to see it going over so well! :-)
