Christmas Colors Bedding
Now see ... I can do nice things on occasion, LOL! I did enjoy making these bedspreads and they actually work on twin beds, too, which is always difficult to make happen. Here is a preview picture of a single bed (Do ya think I squeezed enough Christmas items into this picture? Lol!)
Pirate Booty Toy Boxes
I thought it odd to add only two pirate items (portraits), so I did some recolors of Phelana's (Meshkiste) Treasure Chest. I have used that chest in my game for a long time .... and thought it just might be a nice complement to my Pirate Portraits. Phelana did a wonderful mesh for this chest (as well as her other pirate items) .... and the recolors I think work well, not just for pirate-themed rooms ... but just in general rooms or old fashioned rooms. And you know there aren't that many toy boxes available here at TSR .... but do check out evi's though ... absolutely darling!!!! Pix ....
Landscaping with Terrains ....
This task has got to be one of the most difficult when building lots. Many times I find it takes me longer to do the landscaping than actually building the house. I usually do not use a 'planned' landscape ... it just happens. I start with the large spray tool with one terrain ... then start scaling down the spray tool size using other terrains until I come up with a somewhat 3D effect. I also tend to use the raised-bump tool to accent that 3D effect.Truly it just is luck most of the time in being successful and having an interesting landscape. And choosing the plants to add is not easy either .... there are so many wonderful plants available it is hard to decide what to pick. I use 2 other creators terrains in my lots as well ... margierytka (WOW, great terrains), and Betontod who are both over at MTS2.
Good luck to all of you who are going to use some of these terrains ... just remember to tweak, tweak, and tweak as you go. It'll all happen as it should!
Poor Folk Furniture
I have several sets (living room, bedroom, bath, kitchen, and build) of room funiture coming (and they all match) ... the items are all chipped, scratched and generally just a mess. Now I know you just can't wait for these (lol) .... but they will be out at the beginning of December. Every piece is dreadful .... you have been warned!"There Be Pirates" Paintings
I have no idea why I did these ... the pirates are actual 'sculptures' that can be purchased on the Net ... and I was just playing around with backgrounds ... and kind of liked the look, so I put them into frames. Well, just maybe .... someone might need a pirate portrait. (????)Eden ... is on its' way.....
So far I have 4 houses ready to upload. Had a bit of luck this weekend and was able to spend hours and hours packaging lots. So this month I will have a least 4 houses for the Eden community.Trelawney Cottage - November 8
Christie Manor (furnished and unfurnished) - November 15
Lacewing Cottage - November 22
Blackpool Manor - November 29
I may have more to add in between these .... but for the next 2 weeks, time will be short for me ... school stuff ... although I will have Thanksgiving week off ... and I plan to play and be a total slug.
I'll skip the preview pix on these.
All of you ....have a good week!!!
Welcome to Eden
I have begun a new series of lots. It will be called something like 'Welcome to Eden" ... I'm not dead-set on the name yet, but the lots will have lush landscaping, with an almost tropical feel to them ... or better yet, a swampish feel. I have 4 houses going so far ... and am going in and tweaking, tweaking, and tweaking the lots. There is still much to do, but I should have at least one finished within the week. I am working with some interesting textures by other artists, and I think you will really like them ... the textures are beautiful. And I promise the lots will not be totally shabby ... just a bit old with a crack here and there. Here is a preview of one ....
Sleepy Hollow: Li'l Smokey's Shack
Perhaps a better name for this house would have been, 'Li'l Dinkey's Shack', this is small but cozy for one person. There is still plenty of room to add on if more than one Sim wants to live there. This house is a bit sad, but very neat and tidy. There is also an invisible driveway off to the right of the house if your Sim can afford wheels. Now I am sure you are all wondering how I came up with the name Li'l Smokey, lol!........ the house is named for those little, bitty hotdogs you can buy in the market, which you cook in barbeque sauce and serve as hor dourves. Why I thought of them I have no idea but it seemed to fit the house. Odd, very odd ..... Here are some different views for you ...

Sleepy Hollow: Stonebow Manor
Now you won't believe this .... but this is a 'nice' house! No torn or ragged wallcoverings, no splintered flooring ... just a dark, elegant decor throughout the house, . . . really! What has come over me ... I just don't know, but I think my ponytail is too tight, lol! It's still a little spooky and flows with the rest of the Sleepy Hollow series. 'Tis expensive ... at $66,000+ .... but I am sure one of your well-to-do Sims can afford it. And do take time to admire the beautiful 'Lord van den Brick's' windows by Olemantiker! I did a simple recolor of them for this house and I think they really add something to the overall design. He has such wonderful things to choose from over at Insimenator.net. The house is completely furnished except for the secondary bedrooms ... I used all Maxis items, but I am sure you have better things to furnish the house. Here are some pix for you!!!!

Sleepy Hollow: Excelsior Mill
A very old mill that is still standing after all these years. If your Sims like dwellings with a history, this is perfect for them. The mill has been partially converted into a house, but does need some fixing up. Wonderful slatted windows and door by that famous german craftsman, OleManTiker, and a water wheel (which is decorative only) by reknown waterologist, MsBarrows. Comes with an invisible driveway (ah, just park the car on the grass). And there is one odd thing (only one?) .... there really isn't a front door. There is an arched doorway into the living area. Somehow it just seemed right to leave the arch ... a regular door just didn't look right. Excelsior Mill pix ...
