Thank you!
I just wanted to send out a very big thank you to all the people who have bookmarked me. I have now reached 200 and as I don't know who you are, this is the only way I can thank you :) In addition to this, I have almost reached 50,000 pageviews and seen as I only contribute stories and screenshots to this site, it's always a surprise.
I have been pretty busy in recent weeks but now that I'm settled in my new place, have successfully finished my studies and am close to starting full-time work, I've got a bit more time to work on my new story, A Foreign Romance. The first chapter should be out soon and I hope it's as well received as my previous stories.
Poll Results
Well, well, well, it's that time again. I think it's time I posted the results of my current poll and put up a new one. I got a great response from my Sims 2 or Sims 3 stories poll and as you can see, the results are below:
Sims 2 | 18.98% (26) |
Sims 3 | 32.85% (45) |
Both | 45.26% (62) |
Neither - I don't read the stories | 2.92% (4) |
Thank you to all the participants of this poll and I'm very glad that I have a selection of both Sims 2 and Sims 3 stories to satisfy those with preferences. And for those of you who don't like to read the stories, I guess my site isn't very helpful for you ;-) But thanks for visiting!
I now have a new poll up called Story Chapters which I hope will help me understand how you prefer to read stories. If you have time, why not pop over and put forward your opinion?
Thanks again!
Happy Mothers Day!
I would just like to take this opportunity on this special day to wish all the wonderful mothers out there a very happy mothers day! To me, and many others out there, the role of a mother is the most important role a woman can undertake. It is suceeded by no other job in society and we should all appreciate the patience and devotion these women have. They sacrifice many aspects of themselves and endure many hardships to provide for their children the best way they can. The complete and undying love a mother emits to her child lasts a lifetime and for that, no words are enough to thank them.
So, to all the mothers out there, have a wonderful and beautiful day. Let your loved ones spoil you and know that we are all thinking of you. The footprints a mother leaves on a childs heart is everlasting...
What? How?
I love reading the news at ninemsn and this morning I was reading some articles when I came across some photos of a 101 year old woman in China who has a horn growing from her head. Yes, you read right, a horn. She has doctors baffled and rightly so! Take a look for yourself below...
Sims 3 Ambitions
How exciting! I love new expansions :D If anyone's interested to see the official trailer, you can see it here - http://mysims3blog.blogspot.com/2010/03/sims-3-ambitions-official-trailer.html#links.
Looks good! I mean it would have been good to get seasons or pets but this is still good :) The release date for us in Australia is June 4, those in the US and Europe is June 2!
No ice-creams...
I really just have to share this story with you all.
Last night, my fiancee and I went to the cinemas to see the new movie, Shutter Island. While the trailers were playing, Chris went to get us a couple of mint choc chip ice-creams. He came back with a mint choc chip choc top for him and a vanilla for me for some strange reason. Even he doesn't know why he got a vanilla for me but I think it was because we were talking about them before he went and therefore he had vanilla on his mind. So anyway, that was fine and I said I would just go get myself a mint choc chip one.
By the time I came back in, the movie was just starting and a couple were now sitting next to Chris, pushing us down one seat. As I sat down, he explained that while trying to move for the couple who came in late, he had dropped his ice-cream and it now lay splattered on the floor in front of us. So, I was willing to share mine but while he was showing me where his dropped ice-cream was so I wouldn't step in it, my ice-cream fell off my lap and splattered on the ground, too!!
We were just speechless. Three ice-creams later and neither of us got to eat one! Obviously we weren't meant to have an ice-cream last night. After the initial annoyance disappeared, we couldn't stop laughing about it. Luckily the movie was great - it has a surprising twist! - and it was still a great night. But, what are the odds?? :-D
Story Ideas
I have had so many story ideas floating through my head lately...I don't know what to do with them all! I'm still continuing to write my Someone Special series but have also started work on a short story that I don't know when I will actually put out. But then I got another story idea (which will be either a one or two part story) last night and felt the urge to create the characters and the house where it will be centred, today. At least one of these side stories will be out sometime between my chapters of Someone Special but not for a little while yet. Just thought I would advise you of this so you can keep an eye out when the time comes :-D
Back to studying...
Well, I just thought I would let everyone know (who I haven't already) that I am back to my studies after having a great holiday break. Unfortunately we all have to get back into it some time! So, due to this, there may be slightly longer periods between the chapters of my stories but I will try my utmost to keep them coming out regularly. The next six weeks will probably be the busiest for me because I am in the midst of planning quite a crucial event as part of my course (I'm in Events Management) and obviously there's lots to organise and not a lot of time to do it in....fingers crossed!
Wedding Venue
Just thought I'd share a few pics of the venue we're looking to hold both the ceremony and reception for our wedding. It's not set in concrete but I think it looks like a nice venue by the river and it's close to where we are so us and the guests don't have to travel for ages to get there.
Sorry the pics are small but I couldn't get them any bigger without them going even more blurrier :-/
So hot here...
I've been reading a lot about how cold it is over in Europe and such...so I just thought I'd tell you that I am a little envious! It's been so hot here in Australia (Brisbane) and I'm so over it...I really wish we could have some cold weather. We have no air conditioning in our unit either, so there's no way to get cool except by standing under a fan or going somwhere that is air conditioned. Please send some cold weather here!
